Viele Geräte mit Elektronikkomponenten bringen immer mehr Leistung und weisen immer höhere Packungsdichten auf. Die Konvektionskühlung ist die am weitesten verbreitete Lösung, und die preiswerteste Methode, wobei Luft als Medium genutzt wird bei der Abführung der Wärme mittels einer forcierten Luftbewegung.
